herbal.pngHerbal Tea is a term used to describe teas that are not from the Camellia Sinensis plant.  White, Green, Oolong, Black, and Pu-erh Teas are all “true” teas.  Everything else is herbal, including Rooibos, Yerba Mate and Guayusa.

Herbal teas have traditionally been used for their medicinal properties and continue to be used for this purpose in many countries.  More recently, in western civilizations, people have turned to herbal teas as an alternative to caffeine.  They make a nice alternative to coffee and traditional tea.

Most medicinal blends have an acquired taste to them.  They are made to help ailments through use over a long period of time, usually a month or longer.  This is unlike Western medicine in which a drug is taken to help the ailment immediately. Tupelo Honey Teas herbal blends are made to help heal what ails you, while still tasting good.  We hope you agree!
